I try to choose engaging lesson plans that follow the communicative approach.

I’m a kind, empathetic teacher who seeks to provide a positive and encouraging English lesson. I try to choose engaging lesson plans that follow the communicative approach. There will be role-playing, problem solving, reading and listening, games and information gap activities. It is important for the student to communicate using the target language. There will be constant interaction and exposure to the language. Students should learn not to fear speaking. Learning a language is a matter of trial and error and mistakes are part of the learning process. I enjoy reading, camping and hiking, and mountain biking in my free time. I like books by Peter Mathiessen and Seraphim Rose. I’ve had the opportunity to travel to 31 countries. I lived in Poland for three years, where I taught English in Warsaw. I worked as a newspaper reporter for many years. I’m currently living in Texas. I have TESOL, TEFL, TESL
